Karen Simon, MD
Dr. Simon is currently in a private practice partnership in Southern California providing general GI care in both the hospital and office settings. She is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

As an undergraduate at Stanford University she studied Art History and fulfilled all the requirements for attending medical school. She attended Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, graduating in 2001, and chose to pursue internal medicine.

Dr. Simon returned to California to complete an internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and then was chosen as one of two Chief Residents to participate in the supervision and education of approximately 100 medical trainees.

She then entered and completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at UCLA (including education at UCLA hospital as well as Cedars, Harbor General, and the West LA VA system). During this time, she completed research centered on liver disease and transplantation as well as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She has published in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of endoscopy as well as IBD. Both Cedars-Sinai and UCLA were ranked as amongst the top 10 hospitals in digestive disease care during the time she was in training.
