Cadence has deep experience conducting strategic consulting engagements with a wide variety of health care clients. We offer a variety of strategic consulting engagements including:

  • Opportunity Assessments. These studies offer a rapid four-week evaluation of products being considered for funding or in-licensing opportunities. The Cadence team, typically consisting of clinical experts, statisticians, forecasters, and market researchers, evaluate the product and develop a forecast based on primary research with key opinion leaders and clinicians. The outcome can serve as either an initial or final screen depending upon the rigor of the methodology.

  • Diagnostic Focus Groups. These are qualitative studies where groups of physicians are given actual cases and then asked to vote how they would treat a patient. An Audience Response System (ARS) is often used, enabling a clear understanding of each respondent’s preferences, as well as guiding the overall flow of the discussion.



  • Typically, the moderator is a clinician or even a regional key opinion leader.

  • The discussion often involves not only attitudes and treatment patterns, but also, specific case details.

  • These focus groups tend to be four hours in length with a lunch break.

  • Cadence personnel are always in the interview room and can be reached wirelessly, enabling a back room audience to ask follow on questions.

  • The output is a market research presentation or, at the discretion of the client, a vertical executive summary. A full transcription of the focus group is also included.
